It's time for the 9th Fairyport Convent EP! This time our release kicks off with the Bauhaus-inspired "The Driver and the Tide" with lyrics about mental health and the darkness we all sometimes face. Then we have something completely different, the Kiss-inspired "Rugged Heavy" about a beautiful girl I dated in high school. Unpretentious and rock'n'rolling. Lysergic blues is next, with "High and Stoned Bluez" inspired by Blue Cheer and Jimi Hendrix, fully improvised on the spot with lyrics about my favorite activity back when. "Freewheelin' Frenchwoman" takes us on a roller coaster built around a typical 50s/60s guitar riff with lyrics about the titular lady and also the charms of urban paranoia. "Tylko Ziemia" closes the set, and is probably the noisiest track on the whole EP. Its Polish lyrics were inspired by a science-fiction story by Emma Popik, a cult Polish author I got to know while studying Polish philology. I hope you dig what we have prepared for this month, and remain in our orbit. We ride on into autumn!
